Sauna VS. hot tub - or two complementary friends?

The barrel bath, or palju, has captured the hearts of more and more Estonians and taken its place in our sauna culture. Its ease of use and convenience have made it a good alternative to the hot Finnish sauna.

However, they are not mutually exclusive: the traditional sauna and the hot tub can complement each other perfectly to provide even greater enjoyment and therapeutic benefits. What makes the Palju special is that it uses hot water instead of hot air. It is safer for people with joint and muscle problems.

The hot tub can also act as a cooler, as each user can adjust the water temperature themselves. After sitting on the sauna benches for a long time, the 40-42°C water in the hot tub quickly cools and moisturises skin exposed to the hot air.

As not everyone can sit on the sauna benches and enjoy the sauna baths for health reasons, the hot tub is an excellent option for them, as it poses fewer health risks than a traditional sauna.

What better way than to install a lot in the sauna dressing room? The design, heaters and construction of Lingalaid hot tubs are also safe for indoor installation. There is no need to divide up the company and can be privately indoors.

It also offers the opportunity to combine two old traditions - the Japanese and the Finnish sauna - into one all-encompassing relaxation without leaving the sauna. In fact, the bathing barrel can also be a substitute for a pond or other natural body of water to jump into after sitting on the sauna benches. The temperature of the water in the hot tub can be adjusted and allows you to curl up just as much as you like.

Of course, a hot tub can't provide the body with the temperature and hot air of a traditional Finnish sauna. The difference in temperature is considerable and the body reacts differently to hot water and hot air. In addition, the sauna does not have the ability to throw a sauna, which for many people is the most important feature of a sauna - the rapid and even painful blast of hot air that we have become used to. On the other hand, the Finnish sauna cannot provide the safe and peaceful heating of a hot tub. But we benefit from both - to each his own, but together they work best.

Lingalaid does not believe that the palju do not dominate the traditional sauna culture of Estonians, nor is that our aim. Rather, it is gratifying to see that two very distant cultures can be brought together to offer the best relaxation and treatment for body and mind. Whether in the countryside or in the city, in summer or in winter, outdoors or indoors, it supports and gives versatility to the traditional Finnish sauna and gives sauna lovers a choice between two different experiences.
